SO- An 11 month hiatus from blogging later.... Here I am again. Summer seems to be the time of year I need to vent to a keyboard the most. And this just so happens to be SUMMER: DAY1. Livi just finished her first year of school and I am truly racking my brain to try to remember what I did with her and Jack when they were both here all day. I was so used to my routine and now I am in this weird organization mood. I guess I am trying to salvage some of the control I have lost. Have pics to post and will post again this weekend along with the highlights of the past year.

We were wishing that we were able to spend the holiday with family and friends.... and at the lake for that matter, BUT we had a really good time together yesterday in the backyard. We wanted the kids to have a chance to swim OUTSIDE and enjoy the "no sandstorms, not 115 degrees" weather. ( In case your curious.. because of the dirt and sand and lack of water supply out here, we are yet to find an outdoor pool with the exception of the club we are members of. And the club was closed. I am not that fond of public pools anyway.) So we ended up getting a kiddie pool at wally world and as soon as Billy took it out of the box- we realized that it was rather huge for a blow up pool. All that we had was a manual pump so Billy had to fill it with about 10,000 tiring pumps and had only stopped for breaks to shoot me dirty looks. I thought it was pretty funny. The kids really enjoyed playing outside all afternoon, especially since we were all stuck in the house for the whole week before. I was grateful that Jack had felt pretty good for about 36 hours before I had let them go out. I had a really cute patriotic swim suit for Livi to wear to match Jack's trunks, but she had misplaced the bottoms and had to wear her one peice that was slightly too small. I had an array of low-fat foods prepared ( as we are counting calories now), and then Billy over-ruled me last minute with 2 racks of baby back ribs. I'll have to spend 2 hours on the elliptical next week to work off what we ate and drank this weekend. I had also made some Shrimp- Pinapple- Mushroom - Zucchini kabobs to grill and they were FREAKING AWESOME. We had a low cal Strawberry Pie and and not so low cal S'mores Pie for desert. Both were very good.

We had decided to go out to the fairgrounds that evening and enjoy the "big fireworks". Lonestar was there doing the Fireworks to Music. It was so crowded that we didn't get close enough to really see them, but it was nontheless kinda cool. We had a bunch of little fountains to shoot off at home and Jack would just watch wide-eyed and when it was over he would whisper, "Wow. Awshum,". We had been trying to emplain to Livi all day about what all of the fuss was about and she had responded later with.... " Oh! OK! Like that song we learned about the rockets and America." I had just looked at her and then Billy and had started to wonder if we were watching the news too much with her in the room lately. So I asked, "Honey, what song are you talking about?" She said, "Ugh.. you know that song...The red rockets and the bear,"

Then it hit me.

"And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?"

I replied with... "That is exactly right".

We were really bummed about missing our nephew's birthday party this weekend. He is getting sent the coolest Tranformer that I can find.

What's Going On....

Ok... I know that I need to post badly as I have the upwards of 10 people to call and email back.
Just an update on my last post: Livi is feeling a lot better and should be in tip top shape for the weekend. HOWEVER- the day she started feeling better was the night Jack woke up at 4 am sick and BURNING HOT. I stayed up the rest of the morning to wait for the Dr's office to open and they put him on some antibiotics on Tuesday. He is just now starting to feel better. (IF you sent us a 4th of July invite- I know that it is void now so no worries.) He has been sleeping with us this week and I have had to turn the AC down to 70 because the little space heater is on top of me all night. I have awoke in a sweat several times in past week because of feverish kids. Fingers crossed that I am not sick for the weekend. UGh.

Anywoo, we haven't had much sleep this week and have been really grouchy, but I was cheered when we did get a couple new pictures of our brand new nephew Braylon who is as cute and healthy as he could be. We sure do miss everyone and wish we could have been there this weekend for our other nephew, Gavyn's birthday.

Down with the Sickness...

Livi is feeling much better since our Emergency room visit on Thursday. The fever seems to have gone and stayed down. Her eyes are still INCREDIBLY bloodshot though. It was one of the scariest moments as a mother for me, though. Meningitis testing is incredibly painful and I am so relieved that we were pardoned from having to put her through it. It is very odd to have a week were we don't talk about things like deadly illnesses, having to moving across the country or spontaneous combustion.. I wonder what I should expect this week? Maybe I'll pray that we don't have a dust storm on the 4th of July... Yah.... I'll pray for that...

Every Rose has it's Thorn....

Jack's 2nd birthday was a huge hit. We were SO excited to be back in NTX. We had a blast at the party and then spent the following day at the Ft Worth zoo. The weather was gorgeous and we had the perfect little family outing. Billy and I hadn't been since we were still in school. The kids were crazy about it and Livi was attached to Michael the entire trip. They were holding hands and walking and she looked at him and smiled and said "Friends forever". SO cute. We ended our fabulous and exhausting day with a 6 hour drive from Argyle back to Lubbock. (*sigh*)

Finally Here...

Well.... I am going to keep this first one short because of the extensive amount of time that I spent on creating my page. I am relieved that I have a way to keep all of my blogs in order! Anywoo~ we are still out here in Lubbock and hopefully we will be headed back to Dallas by the end of the year. I am burnt out with moving around the state, so even if we have to go to the alternative (Houston) I will be happy to settle down for more than 6 months. By the time we get settled in with 2 kids and a dog- we are packing again. Livi will start Kindergarten at Calvary Christian School this fall and just recently had a blast at her first Vacation Bible School. There were SO many kids there. It was fantastic.

Jack is an absolute terror. I have never met a child or an adult for that matter that will break EVERYTHING. If he doesn't break it... it's getting flushed. Which reminds me of our recent plumbing dilemma that resulted in having a roto-rooter guy have to pay us a visit at 10 pm because of a flushed Thomas the choo-choo. Oh yes... we had 3 inches deep of poo water in all 3 bath tubs. I had to leave the house with the kids cause I couldn't stop dry- heaving. THIS WAS ON FATHERS DAY NIGHT. Billy thought that he would solve the issue by having a major mental lapse and removing the clogged toilet and it overflowed with another 3 inches of soiled water all over the floor and into our tiled (Thank Heavens that it was tile) hallway. The then proceeded to try to soak it up with every towel in the house (even my good ones.) Not one of our brighter moments... There were a lot of bad words said that night. We are truly striving to not be victims of circumstance (holding up well thus far) because it REALLY is a new saga every day....
